Program Update

Mentees and Mentors,

We appreciate your interest in mentorship. Please be advised that after March 31, 2024, the Business Mentor NY Program will cease to operate. However, you can continue to access mentoring services by contacting Entrepreneurship Assistance Centers in your area at esd.ny.gov/eac-directory to obtain one-on-one counseling with your current business idea or small business.

If you would like to continue offering pro bono mentoring services to entrepreneurs or small business owners, please email us at nylovessmbiz@esd.ny.gov with your core business skills, experience or education and your preferred service area.

What I need help with

My background as an entrepreneur

My current challenges

I would like to begin setting up our business so that we will be accepted as a 501 (c) 3 in the future which after reading and researching is quite an undertaking. It would be nice to work with someone who has expert knowledge in creating 501 (c) (3)s. More immediately, I need to understand double entry accounting from the start so that our books are in line with 501 (c) (3) requirements. Getting help with business insurance for our daycare is essential as well. We have decided to be "Incorporated". We are applying to the New York State Office of Children and Family Services for our daycare license. There are many different types of licenses offered. We are applying for a "family day care license" in a residentially zoned first floor of a 4 story building on a major avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn. We believe that we can eventually attract donors and volunteers to grow Peaceful Path Collective into a bricks and mortar resource center.

About my venture

Peaceful Path Collective, Inc.

We wish to become a 501 (c) (3) non-profit in about a year, after our daycare is up and running and we begin adult programming for plant-based lifestyles in the evenings and weekends. We are committed to supporting families in their quest for health and the health of the planet.
